El Cerrito Homeowner's Workshop Series Presents:

FAQ's on ADU's

Thursday, July 26, 2018

El Cerrito City Council Chambers
10890 San Pablo Avenue
El Cerrito, CA 94530

As the next installment in the City’s Homeowner Workshop series, the City will be hosting a workshop for homeowners interested in developing an Accessory Dwelling Unit. Accessory Dwelling Units (also known as ADUs, in-law units, granny flats, backyard cottages, etc.) are small second units, with kitchen and bath facilities, that are permitted on owner-occupied residential properties.

The City’s recently revised ADU requirements removed obstacles for some homeowners wishing to develop an ADU. ADUs can provide a much-needed housing option for family members and other community members and can provide a source of income for homeowners. The workshop will also provide information about Junior ADUs, which are bedrooms with exterior access that have small cooking facilities and access to a shared bathroom.

To register, contact Jennifer Peat in the Community Development Department by email or call 510-215-4362. Sign up here for our E-Newsletter to receive updates on this and more workshops and events.
