The I-80 Integrated Corridor Mobility project will provide safety improvements for the traveling public; mobility and efficiency during commute hours; automated, integrated technology to manage traffic efficiently; real-time traffic information for travelers; with tax dollars funding SMART solutions.
The project will implement ramp metering and incident management along I-80 from the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge Toll Plaza in Alameda County to the Carquinez Bridge in Contra Costa County.
Improvements will also be made along a 22-mile segment of San Pablo Avenue between West Grand Avenue in the City of Oakland to Pomona Street in Crockett. In general, the work will include upgrading traffic signal controllers and electrical systems, and the installation of the following devices: traffic signals, video detection equipment, pedestrian push button and count –down signals, speed feedback signs, closed circuit TV cameras, trailblazer signs and arterial changeable message signs.
