El Cerrito Police Department 2016 Goal #3 - Enhance Multi-Modal Safety

During our goal-setting meetings, our agency recognized the effect on community safety that violent crime and traffic collisions poses. We examined where violent crime tends to occur and found that it is consistent with those parts of the city where bicyclists, motorists, and pedestrians come in contact with one another. Our goal, for 2016, is to increase the safety of our commercial corridor by reducing violent crime, reducing injury collisions, and increasing education and enforcement efforts.

El Cerrito Police Department 2016 Goal #2- Decrease Residential Burglaries

Residential burglaries are always a concern for our community members. We want our residents to feel secure when they leave their homes to work, shop, attend community events or go on vacation. This year, we vowed to make a concerted effort to reduce the number of residential burglaries that occur in El Cerrito.

El Cerrito Police Department 2016 Goal #1 - Increase Retention

Our agency recognized that we have had significant challenges with employee retention. This fact was highlighted during our November 2015 goal setting session by almost every work group at ECPD. Because it was almost a universal concern, we placed it at the top of our list of goals.
