The National Citizen Survey (NCS) is a collaborative effort between National Research Center and the International City/County Management Association (ICMA). The NCS provides a statistically valid survey of resident opinions about community and services provided by local government. This will be the fourth citizen survey the City has conducted through NCS.
The 5-page survey will be mailed to 1,200 randomly selected households in El Cerrito in March. Typically, the response rate is between 25% to 40%. The report of results will be available in May and will include benchmark comparisons with over 500 other jurisdictions in the USA, as well as El Cerrito results from previous years (2004, 2005 & 2007).
The NCS focuses on eight categories of community characteristics and local government services: Quality of life, Environmental Sustainability, Community Inclusiveness, Community Design, Recreation and Wellness, Civic Engagement, Public Safety and Public Trust.
