Part of the City Manager’s Update of May 16, 2014
PG&E has been implementing a program known as the Pipeline Pathways to remove incompatible structures and vegetation above and adjacent to its natural gas transmission lines. Over the past few months, many cities in Contra Costa County have expressed their concerns about the impact of PG&E’s proposed large-scale tree removal. As a result, PG&E has put a hold on any tree removal related to this program until an agreement can be reached with each city. El Cerrito City staff will be meeting with PG&E to discuss this matter further and will keep the City Council informed. PG&E information materials are available fore public review by contacting the Public Works Engineering Division.
