City Manager's update of July 17, 2014
On June 18, the Engineering Division received bids for the Radar Feedback Speed Signs Project, City Project No. C3070. The City Manager awarded a construction contract in the amount of $38,940.00 to the lowest responsive bidder, DC Electric Group Inc. of Cotati, California (Contractor’s License # 949934, Class A & C10) with a contingency amount of $9,735.00 (25% of the contract amount).
The Radar Feedback Speed Signs Project is intended to calm vehicle traffic speeds on Arlington Boulevard between Thors Bay Road and Cutting Boulevard and Barrett Avenue between Arlington Boulevard and the west City limit.
The project includes the installation of solar-powered speed feedback signs at the following four locations:
- Westbound Barrett Avenue west of Sonoma Street
- Westbound Barrett Avenue west of Monte Vista Avenue
- Northbound Arlington Boulevard south of Potrero Avenue
- Arlington Boulevard south of Brewster Drive (north)
Notification letters regarding the project construction were sent to the property owners near the proposed sign locations in mid-June. Construction will begin in early August and is scheduled to last for approximately a month. For more information, please contact the
