The Fire Department's Fire Prevention Division has been very busy since mid-May conducting vegetation management inspections throughout the city. On June 3rd, non-compliant notices were sent out to the property owners to put them on notice that vegetation management needed to take place on their property. In between June 23 and July 18, the Fire Prevention Officer will go out and conduct re-inspections of the properties that were in violation. This is also a time that the Fire Prevention Division will use to educate property owners on the community’s vegetation management guidelines to avoid having to forcefully abate properties. It should be noted that 369 notices were sent out during this inspection process.
