Distribution of Annual Financial Reports 
The following final financial reports for the City of El Cerrito for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2011 are now available for review at City Hall during regular business hours: 1) The City of El Cerrito Single Audit Report; and 2) The City of El Cerrito Memorandum on Internal Control

The Financial Advisory Board reviewed the Memorandum on Internal Controls issued by the City’s auditors, Maze & Associates for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2011. Topics included building permit fee calculation issues, monitoring Redevelopment Agency activity, recording the Recycling Center lease proceeds account on the Quarterly Investment Report, contracts for vendors, Information Technology controls, timing on grant billing problems, and timely termination of part time employees. Board Member Caftel proposed the use of temporary staffing for lifeguard or other part time recreation personnel. Ms. Dodge had concerns regarding background checks and availability for short hourly shifts.  The FAB requested that staff review potential improvements in grant billing by having them done internally or externally.

Sales Tax Reports From HdL
The 4th Quarter Sales Tax Report from HdL shows increases of 9.7% in El Cerrito compared to the prior year. El Cerrito was ahead of the Contra Costa County increase of 6.5% as well as the Bay Area increase of 7.0%.

Payment Register
Warrant registers for recent checks were distributed to the Council on June 11, 2012.
