Summer time began in El Cerrito this week with our first session of summer camp and swim lessons. The first week of camp has been highlighted with sunny days, the first non-overcast week in recent memory.
Just over 200 children are participating in close to 20 unique camp options during the week of June 11. In total, over 500 children are enrolled to date in the more than 35 unique summer camp options that the El Cerrito Recreation Department is offering this summer. Camps include Digital Photography, Scrapp Booking, Gymnastics, Junior Engineers, and Swim Camp. Our traditional camps (Adventures, Junior Explorers, and Explores) are already sold out during the first two weeks of Summer.
The El Cerrito Swim Center is busy as well with 160 children and adults enrolled in Swim Lessons this week and over 350 overall so far for the entire summer. Recreation Swim has reached or came very close to capacity all week long and several families with small children have been enjoying the Splash Park as well
