As part of multiple planning efforts underway- the San Pablo Avenue Specific and Complete Streets Plan, the Active Transportation Plan and Urban Greening Plan-the City hosted a Community Open House on Saturday, October 19th from 9am to 1pm at the Community Center to solicit community comment on the plans. Community Development staff provided an overview of the planning efforts and provided the context for how the plans work together to achieve City goals. Consultants MIG Inc. and Fehr & Peers presented a matrix of San Pablo Avenue Specific Plan form-based code recommendations (new heights, density, parking, setback requirements); proposed cross-sections of San Pablo Avenue bicycle and bus facilities; proposed Urban Greening Plan strategy maps and focus areas; and the Active Transportation Plan proposed bicycle and pedestrian networks. The consultants presented a summary presentation at 9:30am and 11:45am followed by questions and comments. The public was also invited to explore the posters and other materials in support of the plans as was convenient to them throughout the morning.
