The project’s construction is in its final stages, with minor corrective items remaining to be completed by the contractor. Staff anticipates completion of all items in November. The project close-out will follow with final Caltrans invoicing and close-out documents to be completed in the first quarter of 2014.

Potrero Avenue between E. 55th and E. 56th Street Safety Improvements, No. C3045
The project’s construction is also in its final stages, with minor corrective items remaining to be completed. Staff anticipates completion of all items in November. Central Avenue and Liberty Street Streetscape Improvements, No. C3063
McGuire and Hester (MH), the project contractor, began activities in earnest on October 14, 2013 with demolition of existing sidewalk on Liberty Street and Central Avenue, along BART’s frontage. Staff anticipates continual progression of the project through January 2014, with only minor weather and holiday delays anticipated.

2013 Street Improvement Program (State Local Partnership Program), No. C3072
Staff successfully concluded negotiations for a value engineering-deductive change order with VSS International (VSS) resulting in an award of a contract by the City Manager on October 9, 2013. Staff is currently awaiting receipt of executed contracts by VSS before confirming the construction schedule. It is anticipated that construction will likely commence by December and be completed in early 2014. Below is the final list of street segments planned for improvement:

• Bay Tree Lane Lawrence Court
• Carquinez Avenue – Barrett to Lagunitas Potrero Avenue – Arlington to Douglas
• Cutting Blvd – Arlington to Junction Regency Court
• Edwards Avenue – Barrett to Pointsett Scott Street
• Jordan Avenue – Nason to Alta Punta Tamalpais Court
• Julian Drive Yuba Street – North City Limits to Zara
• Julian Court Waldo Avenue – Pomona to Ashbury
• Knott Avenue – San Pablo to Key
