At the February 1 Community Budget Town Hall meeting, we heard from many residents who expressed interest in economic development activity in El Cerrito. This included, not only what has been done in the past to address economic development, but also how we can collectively harness bold ideas for the future, especially with respect to San Pablo Avenue, our main commercial thoroughfare. Seeking increased revenues through economic development along San Pablo Avenue is an important component of improving the City’s financial condition.

To begin this community discussion, City staff will host a meeting and open house on economic development efforts and activity on San Pablo Avenue on Monday, March 9, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at City Hall, 10890 San Pablo Avenue. We invite the community to attend, learn about what is happening, and share your thoughts. Our Community Development staff will provide a presentation on our current San Pablo Avenue Complete Streets Plans and Development Projects, and then open a discussion to brainstorm ideas with community members for the future.
