Help Improve El Cerrito's Recycling Center

Help El Cerrito Improve Our Recycling Center Come be involved in discussions about expanding the range of materials and reusables collected at the Recycling Center, and join the community conversation to create new guidelines that will help make this resource even more inviting and useful to all our residents! Details: El Cerrito needs your help in crafting principles, goals, and guidelines for community use of the Recycling Center, which will soon be rebuilt. Help us preserve the Center’s value as a community asset while finding ways to make it an even more welcoming and useful place. Stakeholder input at these meetings will help inform City policy about programs and uses at the Recycling Center and will help guide the design of the new facility. All meetings held at El Cerrito City Hall – Council Chambers @ 10890 San Pablo Avenue. Dates: Saturday, July 31, 10:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday, August 26, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, September 14, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Note: Each meeting will have a different topic and build upon the previous meeting while accommodating first-time attendees. Walking work party and cleanup at Cerrito Creek

For International Coastal Cleanup Day, join Friends of Five Creeks removing trash and invasives and getting ready for fall planting along Cerrito Creek, on the border between Albany and El Cerrito and Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. Learn about the fascinating history and natural history of a surprising urban refuge, and about ongoing restoration. Meet at 10 AM at the north end of Talbot Avenue/south edge of El Cerrito Plaza shopping Center (AC Transit 25 or BART to El Cerrito Plaza). We'll end at 12:30 PM about a half mile west, at Pierce Street just northwest of Albany Hill, between Bayside Commons Condominiums and Pacific East Mall.
