Dynamo Golf Scramble

Each year the City of El Cerrito’s Recreation Department hosts the Dynamo golf scramble, our major fundraising event. The Annual Dynamo raises money for the David Hunter Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Open House Senior Center. The David Hunter Memorial Fund offers scholarships for our recreational and child care programs. Scholarships assist families in need of providing safe, high quality programs for children. The Open House Senior Center Fund helps to maintain many of the activities and services that El Cerrito’s senior programs have been noted for over the years.

Last year’s golf tournament hosted close to one hundred players who played a round of golf, had a delicious lunch, and great prizes provided by tournament sponsors. Past tournaments raised more than $10,000! The success of this event is due to the generosity and support of local businesses, service organizations and private citizens. Without their support, many programs, which benefit seniors and children in El Cerrito, would not be possible.

Halloween
Haunted House & Indoor Carnival
The City of El Cerrito Recreation Department hosts an annual Haunted House & Halloween Carnival at the Community Center.  Come get spooked by goblins, witches and vampires!

Dog Parade and Costume Contest
Come out and join us for the Second Annual Halloween Dog Parade and Costume Contest for our four legged friends at Cerrito Vista Park. The contest will take place at Cerrito Vista Park.

Pancake Breakfast

Join the Recreation Staff and Santa at the Annual Holiday Breakfast and puppet show. Hot pancakes, sausages, fruit, juice, coffee and tea are served. Toy barrels are provided by the El Cerrito Fire Department. Please bring a new unwrapped toy to donate for our local children (optional).

Spring Egg Hunt

El Cerrito has hosted the Spring Egg Hunt for over seventy years. The event is geared for toddlers and children up to twelve years old. Following the hunt, children will have the opportunity to meet a very special bunny as well as enjoy playing in Arlington Park, one of El Cerrito's most popular parks.

The event is free and will occur rain or shine. The event will start at 10:00am and is over within minutes; come a little early so you don't miss out!
