Annual Public Outreach Events
The El Cerrito Police Department participates in many community events during the year. Some annual events are listed below.
Year-round, Police Department participates in various meetings, other events and are also available to speak to groups.

Each January the City of El Cerrito participates in the MLK Parade on MLK Day.  In 2014 that will be on January 20th.

The El Cerrito Police Employees Association's annual Crab Feed is always a sell-out event! The first crab feed was held in 2010 to support the development & implementation of the K-9 Program. Last year's event was held in January at the Community Center.

City of El Cerrito's Bike to Work Day
energizer station is located on the Ohlone Greenway near the El Cerrito Plaza BART Station to provide goodies to riders on that day.

JUNE
Bike-The-Bridges are challenge rides to benefit Special Olympics. It starts and finishes at Waterfront Park, Martinez and takes riders across the scenic Carquinez Bridge and Benicia Bridge. All skill levels welcomed.

The Special Olympics's  annual Law Enforcement Torch Run involves El Cerrito Police officers and employees escorting the Special Olympic Torch through El Cerrito on its way to the the summer games.

JULY
City of El Cerrito's July 4th Festival is held each July 4th at beautiful Cerrito Vista Park.

AUGUST
National Night Out is a unique annual safety event highlighting crime, drug and violence prevention across the country. El Cerrito's Night Out program has won a national award for the past nine years (2004-2012). The 2014 National Night Out will be on Tuesday, August 5, 2014. 

Tip-a-Cop -- In partnership with Macaroni Grill at the El Cerrito Plaza, El Cerrito Police Officers volunteer as Celebrity Waiters to raise money to benefit Special Olympics Northern California. This event has previously been held in August.

SEPTEMBER
The El Cerrito/Kensington and Albany Fire Departments’ Tri-City Safety Day brings together various local first responders to meet and talk with local residents in a fun, informative manner. The event is held each September at El Cerrito Plaza.

The annual El Cerrito Police Citizens Police Academy starts each September.  In 2014 it will begin on September 10th.
