Volunteers planting trees on Earth DayEach year on a Saturday near the official Earth Day date, the City celebrates Earth Day through a morning of volunteerism and work parties, followed by socializing and music at our Volunteer Appreciation Lunch.

The City of El Cerrito’s 2015 Earth Day celebration was supported by donations from individuals and local businesses including:  Bacstrom Import Company, Bushwacker Brush Removal Service, East Bay Sanitary,  The Glen Price Group, R&R Auto Service, Seidell Enterprises, Sunset View Cemetery Association, Therapeutic Body Care, and Well Grounded Tea & Coffee Bar.

Earth Day 2016  -- Saturday, April 16, 2016
Individuals, families and groups of volunteers are encouraged to register to volunteer at an Earth Day work party.  Past projects include removing invasives at Baxter Creek and the Hillside Nature Area, picking up litter along the Ohlone Greenway, tidying parks, and planting street trees. Following the work parties, there will be a volunteer appreciation lunch at the Community Center.  You can register to volunteer or lead an Earth Day work party through our Online Registration Form or by downloading the  Mail-In Registration Form and mailing or dropping it off at the Operations and Environmental Services Division, 10890 San Pablo Avenue, El Cerrito, CA 94530.
