For over 20 years, the Richmond/El Cerrito Firefighters’ Annual Toy Program has provided holiday cheer for disadvantaged children in West Contra Costa County including Rodeo, Crockett, Pinole, Hercules, San Pablo, El Sobrante, Richmond, El Cerrito and Kensington, as well as Albany. The Richmond/El Cerrito Firefighters’ Toy Program works in conjunction with the Richmond Police Department’s Food Basket Program and the Coronado YMCA on South 20th Street in Richmond.
The El Cerrito-Kensington Fire Department participates in this annual program with the Richmond Fire Department. The firefighters are currently accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys and games for children ages 0-12 years, as well as monetary donations.
Monetary donations for the Richmond/El Cerrito Toy Program are accepted throughout the year via the Toy Program website,
www.toyprogram.org.
New, unwrapped toys can be donated at various locations including any fire station in West County.
Host a Barrel
Local business owners or event planners in West County who would like to host a donation barrel should contact Rob Murphy with the El Cerrito Fire Department at 510-215-4450to make arrangements.
