Crime Reports
Information for the City of El Cerrito is now available through this Website and a Website called www.crimereports.com. Information on the site is updated on a daily basis, with a time delay for investigation and processing before it is released by the El Cerrito Police Department. With the introduction of this new crime information resource, the Police Department will no longer issue a weekly crime report. Press releases will still be provided for any major incidents or felony arrests.
DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint
The El Cerrito Police Department will be conducting a DUI/Drivers License checkpoint on Friday November 20th, 2009 from 8:30pm to 3:00am. The location will focus on the southern end of the City. In an effort to reduce the number of persons killed and injured in alcohol involved crashes, DUI checkpoints are conducted to identify offenders and get them off the street, as well as educate the public on the dangers of impaired driving.

Tip-A-Cop Raises Funds for Special Olympics!
Thank you to everyone who supported the Tip-A-Cop fundraiser at Macaroni Grill on August 6th. The Officers raised $4,151 for the Northern California Special Olympics. For more information about Special Olympics, go to www.sonc.org

Crime Prevention Committee
The Crime Prevention Committee was formed by resolution of the City Council in 1975. Membership is composed of El Cerrito residents interested in or knowledgeable of the criminal justice system. Meetings are the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
