The Gardens at Heather Farm

Located in Walnut Creek, The Gardens at Heather Farm is a true hidden jewel of the East Bay. Take stroll through the flowers in blossom and explore Heather Farm Park. Light walking and plenty of areas to sit.
Day on the Bay: SF Ferry Building & Farmer’s Market
July 19, 10am– 3:30pm, $31/$38 NR
Ride the Richmond Ferry across the bay to the SF Ferry building to check out the weekly Farmer’s Market. Visit the local artisan shops, restaurants and near by sights. Light walking and limited areas to sit.
Sausalito and the Bay Model Museum
August 16,10– 3:30am, $38/$47 NR
Explore the Bay Model Museum followed by a stroll along the Bay in Sausalito to visit the many popular eateries and artisanal shops. Light walking and plenty of areas to sit.

Senior Support Services
The Respite program provides a brief respite to caregivers of adults suffering from memory loss diseases such as Alzheimer's and Dementia, while offering program participants supervision and programming designed to help keep them functioning at their highest level possible. The program is held at the El Cerrito Community Center (7007 Moeser Lane) and is run in partnership with West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD) Older Adult Education. The Respite program operates September through June and follows the WCCUSD calendar. Transportation to and from the program is available to El Cerrito Residents. Pre-approval is required. Fees will be calculated by the number of days attending the program and the rates are as follows: Resident $29/day and Non-Resident: $36/day. Easy Ride Paratransit Service
Easy Ride Paratransit Senior & Disabled Transportation Service is a van ride service for seniors (65 and older) and persons 18 and over with a disability who are El Cerrito residents 94530. The cost per ride is $3. The door-to-door shuttle is funded by Measure J Sales Tax. For more information or to register CLICK HERE
Cafe Costa To-Go Meal Program
City of El Cerrito staff deliver meals provided by the county Senior Nutrition Program to the homes of El Cerrito seniors enrolled in the Cafe Costa program. Curbside pickup at the El Cerrito Community Center, 7007 Moeser Lane, is available for non-resident seniors age 60+ who enroll in the Cafe Costa Senior Nutrition Program.
All meals will be packaged in the home-delivered format, which includes a 3-compartment tray for the frozen entree and side dishes as well as a bread/crackers, milk/calcium fortified drinks, and fruit items. 5-day meal packs will be delivered on Wednesdays between 11-12:30pm (subject to change). If you are interested in the Cafe Costa To-Go Senior Meal Program, you must complete Contra Costa County Health Services forms to enroll. Registration forms can be downloaded HERE or emailed to you or delivered to your home (El Cerrito Residents only). Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy Program (HICAP)

Senior Peer counseling Program
" As we get older, sometimes a little help means a lot."
If you are 55 or older and facing challenges that are difficult to cope with alone, our Senior Peer Counseling program can help.
Participants connect with fellow seniors who are trained to provide assistance and support with challenges such as depression, fear, loneliness, the loss of a loved one, health changes, or isolation.
Senior Peer Counseling is available in English and Spanish. Services are free and confidential.
