El Cerrito is noteworthy for its modern recycling center, Where Recycling is a Pleasure.  The facility is a model for other communities to replicate the process and the steps that led to its construction.  Please also take a look at a video that includes the grand opening celebration as well as some interesting information.

Master Fee Schedule

New fees for FY 2019-20 go into effect on July 1st of each year.  View or download the MASTER FEE SCHEDULE for the Recycling + Environmental Resource Center (PDF). Please review item #5 for a list of all fees and services.

The Center offers community members a convenient way to reduce their environmental footprint. The Center is a one-stop shop for reuse and recycling. It’s also the hub of El Cerrito’s environmental programs and activities, from energy efficiency and climate action to urban greening. As a LEED facility that features a zero-net energy building, recycled rain-water catchment, rain gardens, native plantings and reused building materials, the Center is a living model of sustainability.
