New Affordable Housing Developments
There are currently two new mixed-use affordable residential projects in development:
Southeastern corner of El Cerrito Plaza, El Cerrito
Currently under construction. 19 affordable units (6 units low-income households and 13 units moderate-income households) will be available soon. The north building for Metro 510 was complete spring 2017 (7 affordable units) and the south building (12 affordable units) will be complete spring 2018.
The interest list is closed and has been transferred to the developer. There are over 900 names on the interest list for the 19 below market rate units. The developer's renting agent will begin the affordable housing selection process by the end of March 2017. Please note the City has no role in selecting applicants for this affordable housing development.
10848 – 10860 San Pablo Avenue, El Cerrito
Construction began at the end of January, 2017. Once constructed, there will be 63 units (one manager's unit) available for seniors. This project is set to be complete late August 2018.
The pre-application period is now closed. The Housing Authority of Contra Costa County is generating the waitlist. Applicants will be contacted by the housing authority with confirmation of their position on the list spring 2018. If you have questions about the waitlist, please contact The Housing Authority of Contra Costa County at (925) 957-7001. Once the waitlist is transferred to the developer, Eden Housing, the first 62 households will be contacted mid-late July as construction completion approaches.
