How to Become a Firefighter
The City of El Cerrito works with the
Firefighter Candidate Testing Center (FCTC - formerly known as FireHire), a program of the
California Fire Fighter Joint Apprenticeship Committee (CFFJAC), for recruiting services for positions available with the El Cerrito Fire Department. Candidates complete their application and testing requirements through the FCTC, which then creates a statewide list of qualified applicants available for hire. The City of El Cerrito recruits qualified candidates for any positions available with the El Cerrito Fire Department from the statewide list.
