On June 12, 2012, around 12:53 PM, officers were dispatched to the 6200 block of Jordan Ave. in regards to a suspicious persons detail. The witness called the Dispatch Center and stated the suspect was seen walking between houses, and carrying bags to a parked vehicle. The witness provided Dispatch with a description of the suspect and a partial license plate of the vehicle as it was leaving. Upon officers’ arrival, they discovered a home in the area had been burglarized.
On June 13, 2012, around 7:15AM, detectives conducted follow-up in regards to this case and located the vehicle parked in front of a house in the 3100 block of Lowell Ave. in Richmond. Detectives contacted William Johnson, a 38 year old resident of Richmond. During the investigation it was determined Mr. Johnson was responsible for the burglary. Mr. Johnson was taken into custody without incident.
Mr. Johnson was booked for burglary, active probation violation warrant and a parole hold was obtained. After booking Mr. Johnson was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. This case will be forwarded to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office for review.

On May 30, 2012, officers responded to a business located in the 10000 block of San Pablo Ave. in regards to an armed robbery that had just occurred. Upon officers’ arrival, an employee stated that the suspect entered the business and brandished a firearm while demanding money. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported.
The suspect was described as an African American male, approximately 25-30 years old, brown eyes, 6’00”, approximately 170lbs. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, black jacket, and black sunglasses.

During the past week, residents in the City of El Cerrito experienced several burglaries. During one of the burglaries the thieve(s) appeared to have targeted an unoccupied home. Prior to the victim discovering the first burglary, the suspect(s) returned again and removed more property. The suspect(s) stole several motorcycles, a trailer along with other property. Detectives are currently following up on leads in regards to this case.
