  2. COVID-19 Inspection Protocol - Please Read
    Social distancing practices are required and Construction Safety Protocols must be adhered to while our inspectors are on site. All persons present for an inspection must be wearing face masks or coverings. Failure to maintain safety requirements will result in a terminated or cancelled inspection without approval of the work for which the inspection was scheduled and a reinspection fee of $155 will be assessed. The reinspection will need to be scheduled for the next available day and time after the reinspection fee has been paid. A copy of the Construction Safety Protocols for both Large and Small projects can be found on the Contra Costa County Health Department website at https://www.coronavirus.cchealth.org/health-orders. The City of El Cerrito Building Division will also post these protocols on our website and we will make printed copies available at our permit counter.
  4. El Cerrito Building Inspection Request Form

    To schedule an inspection with the Building and Planning Division for a building permit related inspection please fill out the form below with all of the required information. An incomplete form cannot be submitted or processed. Please submit your request a minimum of 48 business hours, excluding Fridays, prior to the requested inspection date. Every effort will be made to accommodate your requested date, but we cannot guarantee that the request can be honored. Do not assume after submitting the request that the inspection is automatically scheduled. One of our building staff members will contact you to confirm your requested inspection date or to arrange an alternate date.
