Community Police Academy - Interest Form

  1. Interested in what happens behind the badge, inside a patrol car, at a crime scene, or during an investigation?

    The Community Police Academy is an eight week program, meeting Wednesday nights from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. plus one Saturday class. This program is designed to provide El Cerrito residents with firsthand information and experience about how the Police Department operates. The

    Community Police Academy consists of instructor police officers with expertise in specific fields such as patrol operations, K9, motorcycle patrol, bicycle patrol, vehicle operations, investigations, and crime scene investigation. Community Police Academy students attend a Use of Force Simulator and Driving Simulator training course which is also part of the training ECPD Officers receive.

    Candidates will have to pass a background check before being accepted into the Community Police Academy. Classes will be taught at the Police Department.
